The John Mitchels GAA Club held a very successful Lip Syng during the October Bank Holiday weekend raising thousands for the club’s development, but there was also a charity aspect to the event.
Each act nominated an organisation or charity to benefit if they won and in the case of eventual winners, Wrong Direction, it was St John Of God in Tralee.
James Duggan, Akeem Molloy, Jonathan O’Halloran, and Mikey Walsh sang Westlife’s ‘A World Of Our Own’ to the delight of the crowd and on Friday, Jonathan and Mikey were on hand to present a cheque for €500 to the PAL Dept in St John of God Kerry Services Tralee.
Jonathan’s aunt Maggie O’Donnell uses the services at St John Of God and she was there to accept the cheque from the lads, along with Brenda McNamara, Co-Ordinator of the Programme for Active Living (PAL) department.
